Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) demonstrated exceptional form, securing a significant victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in IPL 2026. The SRH bowling unit proved to be a significant challenge for RCB. Despite a rare off-day for Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood and Rasikh Salam also conceded runs at high economy rates. Eshan Malinga was the most successful bowler for SRH, taking 2 wickets for 33 runs in his spell. Ultimately, RCB could only manage 200 runs in 20 overs, falling short by 55 runs.
Following the match, SRH captain Pat Cummins lauded both his batting and bowling units. He expressed his admiration for the collective effort, highlighting the impressive batting display and the strong bowling performance. Cummins specifically praised Eshan Malinga and Sakib Hussain for their exceptional bowling throughout the match.
«They’ve been fantastic,» Cummins remarked about his bowling attack. «I’ve actually learned a lot off those guys as well. The way Eshan has bowled all season, particularly in that powerplay. He’s been the form bowler of the comp, kind of with his slow balls and his mixing up different things. And of course, Sakib there as well.» He described the bowling unit as a «captain’s dream.»
Looking ahead, Cummins mentioned the team’s plan to rest before their next match in New Chandigarh, expressing confidence that the players know the ground well. The team awaits the results of another match to confirm their next opponent.
