Arriving at the Eden Gardens, a venue where Jadeja has historically performed well against KKR, he spoke highly of the 15-year-old sensation from Bihar, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
The Indian cricket veteran believes that having Sooryavanshi in the squad is a significant advantage for the Royals. He is particularly impressed by the young batter’s astonishing confidence and his ability to consistently hit sixes at such a tender age. Jadeja anticipates further improvement from Sooryavanshi, envisioning him as a future asset for India.
«I think we’re lucky to have him on our team (Vaibhav Sooryavanshi); he bats well and possesses immense confidence for his young age. My opinion hasn’t changed—from the first time I saw him, he continues to hit big sixes. He’ll improve skill-wise and talent-wise as time goes on, which is a good thing for India in the future,» stated Jadeja.

Ravindra Jadeja, who was part of a significant trade deal moving from Chennai Super Kings to Rajasthan Royals, discussed his role within the team. Despite being a part of the playing XI, his specific role has been a subject of debate.
Jadeja clarified that he performs according to the team’s needs, whether it’s contributing with the bat or focusing on his bowling. He acknowledged the inherent challenge of being an all-rounder, with expectations to excel in both disciplines.
«I play according to the team’s requirements: I think as a batter when we’re batting, and the same applies to bowling. As an all-rounder, my job isn’t easy because the team expects me to do well with both bat and ball. My record against KKR, as you said, is good, and I hope to do well today as well,» the Royals all-rounder added.
Managing workload as an all-rounder
Despite his experience, Ravindra Jadeja remains a fit and promising player. He shared his perspective on the challenges of managing an all-rounder’s workload, emphasizing the need to prioritize focus during training sessions.
«As an all-rounder, you have to decide whether to focus on bowling or batting during training sessions. You must keep the workload in mind and can’t do everything in a single session. I made the decision to split in half so that my workload is balanced,» Jadeja explained regarding his approach to managing his commitments.
This season, Jadeja has scored 76 runs for the Royals in two innings, with a strike rate of 118.75. He has also taken three wickets, despite limited bowling opportunities.
